Rhodochrosite   Gold	February 13th -  Mixed minerals from Tucson!   Hopefully you'll find this an interesting group of specimens found here at the Tucson Show.
Benitoite & Joaquinite   Benitoite	February 13th  -  New Benitoite Mine specimens -  Prior to the Tucson Show I cleaned approximately 100 NEW specimens from the material that Steve Perry and I purchased from Collector's Edge back in 2010.  Don't see one here you like. Don't worry. There are still about 4 tons of material left to be etched.
Hydroxylapophyllite	February 13th  -  Blue Fluorite on Quartz -  Czech dealer KARP had specimens of these attractive indigo fluorite specimens on the bleached quartz from the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, China.  The prices for these have moderated considerably which is a nice trend compared to just about everything else in the mineral world.
Hydroxylapophyllite	February 13th  -  New Find - Pink Hydroylapophyllite -  Peruvia dealer Teodociao Ramos had an interesting novelty here at the show - pink apophyllite from the Huanzala mine, Huanuco Dept, Peru.  This is the first reported find of this mineral from the mine.  He had five specimens and it took about 13 seconds for me to write out a check for all five and add them to the minerals to be updated here from Tucson.
Vanadinite ps Mimetite	February 13th  -  New Find - Vanadinite ps Mimetite -  Pani Ahmed was set up in the HTCC and I found a couple of specimens of something I have never heard of before - vanadinite pseudomorphing mimetite.  The centers of thse crystalline aggregates is bright lemon yellow.  He said he had them tested and the centers are mimetite.  They are from Taouz, Morocco.
Talc	February 10th  -  New Find - Crystallized TALC!  One of the other more significant new finds here are specimens of crystallized talc.  You heard me right.  Crystallized talc.  I have seen a lot of talc in the past and all of it has been more or less massive, lammelar, soft stuff.  These specimens are from Zederhaus Valley, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria.  They have a rich sea foam green color and the crystals are sharp and distinct. Laslo Gal has these and he will be set up at the main show.  I was quite pleased to be able to obtain a number of these ahead of time.

Bertrandite	February 10th  -  New Find - World's largest Bertrandite Crystals!    I was contacted by Italian dealer Emanuele Marini regarding a new find of bertrandite from the Golconda mine, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  I don't know about you but I have seen a lot of bertrandite in the past and the crystals have always been in the mm realm.  You know 2-5 mm in size.  Well my eyes about popped out of my head when I saw these things.  I had heard that some crystals to 2 cm had been found in the past from the Golconda but not up to 4 cm! We're talking bertrandite here.  Anyway, I purchased five specimens from Emanuele.  Some have associations with schorl and/or muscovite.  I saw one specimen that I can't publish a picture of that is likely the finest known specimen of bertrandite - a large cabinet specimen with numerous crystals to 4 cm.  These types of specimens rarely ever see the light of day as they are quickly placed in collections for crazy money.
Gold	February 10th  -  NEW FIND Valentinite    Australian dealer Rob Sielecki had a new find of valentinte from the Xikuangshan Sb deposit in Hunan Province, China.  I have seen a number of valentinite specimens from various localities around the world but never any like this one with acicular crystals.  I have heard that these first made it to the market at the Denver show last year. But Rob's got a number of fantastic specimens.  The crystals are acicular and have a pleasing gold color.  The matrix is gray jasperoid so the valentinite contrasts nicely with the matrix.  Valentinite is a simple oxide of antimony (Sb2O3) and forms crystals in the orthorhombic crystal system.
Gold	February 10th  -  Brazilian Gold   I can't seem to help myself with this stuff.  I saw Steve Ulatowski of New Era Gems and he had  small lot of these remarkable crystallized golds from Brazil.  There aren't as many of these this year in Tucson as there were last year.
