Realgar Babingtonite & Prehnite Rhodochrosite & Fluorite Plumbogummite	November 15th Chinese Minerals -  Without question the vast majority of interesting new material is coming out of China these days.  This link will take you to plumbogummite, rhodochrosite, babingtonite, and much more.  A wide range of quality material I selected at the show.
Barite - Peru Morganite - California Topaz & Fluorite - Pakistan	November 15th Munich Show Minerals -  This is a large group of 50+ specimens found at the show - eveything from this to that and all are choice specimens.  Use the two button links to see them stratified by pricing.
Fluorite	November 15th Orange River Fluorite - A couple of dealers had these at the show - primarily the Gobins from France and Sprichts from South Africa.  The color of these fluorite specimens is neon lime green. The habit is almost always octahedral. Quite striking.
Siderite & Sphalerite ps Calcite	November 15th Odd Pseudomorphs - Kalahari Mineral Ventures had some very unusual pseudomorphs of a mixture of siderite and sphalerite after calcite. Dr. Bruce Cairncross was there with the analysis to verify this identification.  The pseudomorphs are actually casts of the siderite and sphalerite after calcite as they are hollow.
Vanadinite	November 15th Nail head or Scepter Vanadinite - Ernesto Ossala had some wierd specimens of vanadinite.  All of the specimens are Thumbnail in size to small miniature.  The crystals are elongated with these peculiar terminations.
Fluorite	November 15th du Burg Mine Fluorite - French dealers Claudette and Michel Cabrol brought out the goods with a gorgeous array of blue fluorite specimens from the du Burg Mine, Alban, Tarn, France.  They had scores of specimens from small miniature to watermelon sized.  I spent at least 30 minutes scratching my head trying to decide which ones would make the trip back to Weaverville with me and found ten specimens in all.
Red Variscite	November 15th Red Variscite from Brazil - French dealer J.J. Cailloux-Abello also had specimens of the new red variscite first seen at the Sainte Marie show this past summer.  Cailloux-Abello had a larger array of specimens available with pieces from small miniatures to large cabinet sizes.  All of these have accessory minerals including saleeite, rockbridgeite and others.
Barite & Pyrite	November 15th New Find - Pyrite on Barite - Peruvian dealer Ramos Minerals had a new find of micro crystalline pyrite on grayish colored barite. These come from the Warihuayin Mine, Mira Flores Dist., Huanaco Dept., Peru.
Phantom Quartz Hematite on Rutile	November 15th Minerals from Madagascar - French Dealer Laurent Thomas of Polychrome I make sure that I do not miss what he might have on hand from Madagascar.  Laurent is always full of surprises.  This year he had some very fine specimens of prismatic rutile crystals with epitaxial hematite on one end from Tetikana, Ambatofinandrahana (say that three times..), Madagascar.  You have all seen the hematite with golden straw like rutile growing epitaxially from Brazil.  These are the flip side and what is striking about these is that the hematite and rutile are equally developed.  These look like little "Stop signs". Laurent had these initially at the Sainte Marie show and had 8 or 9 pieces available here in Munich.  This deposit is kaput according to Laurent.  I took the three that he had without any damage - all thumbnails.  He also had a new find of amethyst with multiple phantoms from Morafeno, Mahajunga, Madagascar.  One of these specimens, in particular, has a phantom that looks strikingly like the Eiffel Tower.
Hematite	November 15th New Find - Hematite from Kazakhstan - Czech dealer KARP Minerals had several specimens of a new find of hematite from Kazakhstan.  Most of these had serious damage issues however I found three that were in excellent condition and brougt them back to post here.
Rose Quartz - Maine	November 15th New Find - Rose Quartz from Maine - Gary Freeman had a new find of rose quartz from Maine that, on first glance, looked like it was from Brazil.  Many people, myself included, jokingly accused Gary of flying down to Brazil, loading up and unwrapping in the Mount Mica mine in Maine. These look amazingly like the specimens from Taquaral, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Guimaraesite	November 15th New Species/Rare Minerals - Guimaraesite - Brazilian dealer Luiz Menezes always has something new to offer.  No one works harder to find new things to offer and he's done it again with a new species called guimaraesite from Tarquaral, Itinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil.  Guimaraesite is the zinc analog of zanazziite.  It is found coating zanazziite. There are several other rare minerals included with this page including an exceptional specimen of Chiavennite from Madagascar.
Grossular - Washington Grossular - Canada Andradite - Japan	November 15th Various Garnets - The majority of these come from German Dealer Uli Burchard however there are three specimens of the rainbow garnets (andradites) from Hori Minerals of Japan.
Villiaumite - Namibia	November 15th Villuamite from Namibia - This year Andreas Palfi and Ralf Wartha of Geo-Tours Namibia had their usual array of fine specimens from the famous locations of Namibia such as Tsumeb and Okarusu.  This year they brought a large quantity of very fine gem villaumite specimens from the Aris Quarry near Windhoek, Namibia.  Villaumite has been found here frequently in the past but this year's production is striking in that the crystals look just like gem spessartine (orange) set in vugs.
